Snom M9B DECT Location Beacon

With the Snom Beacon Solution, Snom offers a cost-effective and modern solution to integrate professional location and asset tracking and alarm systems into any existing Snom DECT multi-cell system.

The Snom M9B Beacon Gateway acts as a Bluetooth satellite connected to a Snom M900 base station via a DECT data connection. The beacon gateway itself can continuously emit Bluetooth signals (TX) to scan registered devices in the vicinity, or in receive mode (RX) respond to signals from approaching beacons. The 4 antennas integrated into the M9B enable accurate real-time location determination of a registered device, thanks to beamforming within a close range of 1-15 meters, and report this information in real-time to the nearest Snom M900 base station. At the same time, the M9B is compatible with many Bluetooth beacons from well-known manufacturers such as iBeacon, AltBeacon, or Eddystone.

The Snom M9B Beacon Gateway can be used both on batteries and with a USB power adapter, making it flexible and allowing for installation at virtually any location retroactively.

This makes it possible to map a wide range of scenarios, from indoor navigation, theft protection, inventory management, tracking solutions, and much more. On one hand, the beacons are inexpensive to purchase, can be installed with minimal effort, and consume hardly any power thanks to the BLE standard (Bluetooth Low Energy). Moreover, beacons typically do not interfere with existing infrastructures such as WLAN, DECT, or mobile radio. Even medical equipment remains unaffected.
